Wildlife Exemption: About Us and Wildlife Management
This site was created to help private landowners in obtaining a wildlife exemption tax valuation for their Texas property. The wildlife tax valuation, commonly referred to as the wildlife exemption, can be obtained by landowners willing to implement at least three out of seven major habitat management practices.
Texas landowners can apply for a wildlife tax valuation for their property, but they must also file a written wildlife management plan with the county appraisal district in which the county their property is located. We understand that many landowners can not create a formal written management plan for wildlife and wildlife habitat, although they may posess a love for Texas’ native habitats.

We have the education and the know-how to develop a low cost wildlife management plan simply by corresponding with you. This keeps both your and our costs down, while allowing you to have a professional management plan delivered to you quickly.
A wildlife exemption (valuation) allows Texas landowners to eliminate traditional farming and ranching practices on their property while maintaining a low agricutlural tax rate. Ag and wildlife tax rates usually range from $1 to $2 an acre, depending upon county. However, if you lose your ag valuation, the tax rate for your now residentially-taxed acreage can jump up to $30 to $50 an acre. Even on 30 acres, that is an minimum difference of over $800 annually!
